Radim
& Hali
We are Radim and Hali, and our journey began exactly where yours is starting now, as passionate students.
Back in 2020, before our paths crossed, we were each exploring our own love for dance. Radim tried Salsa, Bachata, and Kizomba, but soon discovered Urban Kiz and stuck with it. Meanwhile, Hali learned Salsa, Zouk and Kizomba, which she also taught for several years.
Since we began our story together, we have focused on training and teaching Urban Kiz in Prague with occasional workshops in other Czech cities, also in Poland and Austria.
Our mission is simple: to share the magic of this dance with more people and contribute to the local community.

UrbanKiz
Urbankiz (more common, abbraveated from of name Urban Kizomba) is a social, couple dance that evolved in Paris around 2013, rooted in traditional Angolan Kizomba. There might be a confusion as some dancers refer to Urbankiz as Kizomba.
Urbankiz is not a choreography, but improvisation, with a several technical rules to follow so leader and follower can understand which movement is coming next.
Social dances in general are not made for competitions (even though they exist) but they are made rather to hangout with friends, meet new people and enjoy the music together. In this way our community is very different from ballroom dancing.

You will meet new people in Prague and gain the skills to dance in cities all over the world. We often travel together as a group to international dance festivals to learn, explore, and dance the night away.

FAQ
> Is it for me?
One of the most beautiful things about Urban Kiz is that it is accessible to everyone. It is never too late to start. People usually start social dancing between the ages of 20 and 50 with most of the active dancers being in their 30s.
> I don’t speak English.
It’s okay if you understand English, but you can ask questions in Czech, Slovak, Polish, Russian or French.
> What to wear?
It’s super casual, for classes come as you are, you just need to have a clean shoes. At night parties you can come in jeans and tshirt but you can also come in a suit or dress and you will not feel inappropriate.
> Do I need any experience?
While a background in dance, sports or music can give you a head start, everyone can learn to dance. We believe in progress over perfection. Whether you learn fast or prefer a slower tempo, our focus is on having fun and feeling the music, not on winning trophies. In our community, the "prize" is the joy of the dance itself.
> Do I need a partner?
No Partner Required! Urban Kizomba is a social couple dance, but don’t worry if you’re coming alone! In our classes, we frequently switch partners, ensuring everyone gets to dance and learn effectively.
> Can I come with a partner?
You definitely can! Since Urban Kizomba is a couple dance, it’s more than fitting, and you’ll already have a training partner to practice the moves with after class. During the classes, we usually switch partners so we can learn how to dance with different people, but if you prefer not to switch, that’s perfectly fine as well.
> Will guys try to touch me/hit on me while dancing?
There are clear rules, where dancers can touch each other and what are no-go zones. We explain this in detail in our classes and you are always welcome to bring this topic personally to us or we can even discuss it in class as most probably you are not alone with these questions. Also, the golden rule is “if you don’t feel safe, stop the dance”. It doesn't matter if you are very beginner and you are dancing with an international star, if it doesn’t feel right, stop it. The biggest responsibility you have is for yourself.
> Do people drink?
It’s usual to have a few drinks during the party, but it’s very rare that someone gets drunk. First - you don’t have time to drink because you spend much of the time dancing. Second - alcohol messes with your balance and sensitivity and everyone feels it.

Platba za nabízené služby probíhá výhradně online prostřednictvím platebních odkazů Revolut. Smluvní vztah mezi provozovatelem a klientem vzniká a podmínky se stávají závaznými v okamžiku připsání platby na účet provozovatele.3. Platnost a storno podmínky
Platnost permanentky: Platnost každé permanentky je omezena na konkrétní časový rámec uvedený u daného typu produktu. Tato lhůta začíná běžet dnem zakoupení, nikoliv dnem první návštěvy lekce. Po uplynutí této lhůty nevyčerpané lekce propadají bez nároku na náhradu.Refundace: Vzhledem k tomu, že jsou služby vázány na konkrétní časový rámec a kapacitu, jsou veškeré platby za permanentky a zkušební lekce nevratné.Zkušební lekce (Tryout classes): Jsou nevratné a vázané na konkrétní datum. Pokud se klient omluví alespoň 48 hodin předem, provozovatel se pokusí (v závislosti na kapacitě) nabídnout náhradní termín.Omezení: Jedna osoba může využít pouze jednu zkušební lekci. Duplicitní nákupy zkušebních lekcí budou okamžitě stornovány a vráceny.4. Zdravotní stav a odpovědnost
Účastí na lekci klient potvrzuje, že je v dobrém zdravotním stavu a neexistují žádné překážky bránící fyzické zátěži. Účast na lekcích je na vlastní nebezpečí. Provozovatel neodpovídá za zranění způsobená nesprávným prováděním cviků ani za osobní věci odložené v prostorách studia.5. Pořizování záznamů (Marketing)
Klient bere na vědomí, že během lekcí mohou být pořizovány fotografie nebo videozáznamy pro marketingové účely (např. sociální sítě). Pokud si klient nepřeje být zaznamenán, je povinen o tom informovat lektora před začátkem lekce.6. Odstoupení od smlouvy
V souladu s § 1837 písm. j) občanského zákoníku nemá kupující právo na odstoupení od smlouvy ve lhůtě 14 dnů bez udání důvodu, neboť se jedná o využití volného času v určeném termínu nebo období.

These General Terms and Conditions (the "T&C") govern the contractual relationship between the Operator and the Client for the purchase of dance classes and passes via radimhalikz.cz.

Payments are processed exclusively online via Revolut payment links. The contractual relationship becomes binding at the moment the payment is successfully credited to the Operator's account.3. Validity and Cancellation Policy
Pass Validity: Each pass is valid for a specific timeframe (e.g., 1 month, 3 months) as specified for each product. This period begins on the date of purchase, not the date of the first class attended. Any unused classes after the expiration of this timeframe will be forfeited without compensation.Refunds: As services are tied to a specific timeframe and capacity, all payments for passes and tryout classes are non-refundable.Tryout Classes: Non-refundable and tied to a specific date. If the client provides notice at least 48 hours in advance, the Operator will attempt (subject to availability) to offer an alternative date.Limits: Only one tryout class per person is allowed. Duplicate purchases of tryout classes will be cancelled and refunded immediately.4. Health and Liability
By attending a class, the client confirms they are in good physical health and have no medical conditions that would prevent physical exertion. Participation is at the client's own risk. The Operator is not liable for injuries caused by improper exercise or for personal belongings left on the studio premises.5. Visual Media (Marketing)
The client acknowledges that photographs or videos may be taken during classes for marketing purposes (e.g., social media). If the client does not wish to be recorded, they must inform the instructor before the class begins.6. Right of Withdrawal
Pursuant to Section 1837(j) of the Czech Civil Code, the 14-day right of withdrawal without providing a reason does not apply, as the contract concerns leisure activities provided within a specified term or period.
